Now we’re finally here. The part of the training where we talk about Facebook and Instagram ads. I usually get a lot of different questions about ads. Don’t worry. You’re in good hands. I’ve personally spent over a million on Facebook and Instagram ads at a profit. And I train dozens of entrepreneurs each month on how to use ads. Some are beginners and some are a little more experienced.
But they usually all start off with the same questions. What if I don’t have a big budget. Does five hours a day work. Ads are very confusing. Who should I target. Will ads work for my brand. We’ll break all of that down over the next few lessons. But first, I want you to think about using ads in two different ways. The first way as a presale tool to get in front of your potential customers and build up that
weightless very fast. And secondly, as an amplification tool once your sale goes live to get back in front of everyone who joined your list and told you they wanted to take advantage of your sale plus all your past customers and the warm and hot audiences will go over all of that in the next lesson. Let’s get started. In this part of the train.
And we’re going to actually go into your business manager, and so to get here you’d go to business not Facebook that common. I’m assuming at this point, everyone has a business manager, and you’re at least somewhat familiar with ads. And so what I’m going to go through now is the actual audiences that you shouldn’t use. And the first phase is going to be what type of audiences
you should use for your pre-sales send sending people to your viper landing page. And the second part is all right now that you’ve built up that viper list you’re actually ready to go live on Black Friday or Thanksgiving or in Jason’s case, the Monday before Black Friday. Right who should you send your ads to. Then we’re going to go over all of that now.
And so these are the types of audiences that I believe are going to maximize your efforts. And so when you think about your presale viper page you want to find people who are most like your customers and Facebook has a really cool look alike feature, which you’re able to upload your customer lists. And they analyze 2000 data points.
And then they’re able to find people who most look like your audience. And so how you would do that is you hit the dropdown go to audiences. And in this create audience section it custom audiences and it gives you all these different cool options. You would hit customer list download the template
if you don’t have it hit Next. You’re not going to necessarily have a value. Don’t worry about that. And then you just upload a file. And so I have something already set up and you would just name this customer list.
I like to put naming conventions. So you’d put the date. Let’s say today’s march 2020 also too. I’d like to add the number of people on my list. So let’s say it’s 500 also worth noting the look alike. I find that having a list of about 500 to 1,000 people at minimum to start
works really well for a list. So if your customer list isn’t at that level yet either use your email list you want to make sure it’s at least that 500 to 1,000 person minimum because everyone on this list isn’t going to get found. Maybe they use a different email address to log into Facebook.
So it’s not 100% sure that you’re going to find everyone who’s on this list. Facebook could needs that information to create this. So if you don’t have a customer list drop down to your email list. And if you don’t have that. No worries. You’ll probably get that after the end of your viper campaign. But if you don’t have that we’ll go over other lookalikes
that you can create. Once you hit Next you’ll go ahead and up that up date that it would populate. And once that comes up there, you will get something kind of like this. So if you don’t have an actual email list. The other best next best thing you can do is you can create a custom audience of your website
visitors. So you can create your website visitors and all website visitors. I’d like to use 180 days. And you would just say, oh Ms. Course I can’t type 180 create audience.
You could either also use this two page view purchases people who viewed content. So you can change this as much as possible and also, once again with lookalikes you need a minimum of 500 to 1,000 people in that audience to be able to create a lookalike off.
And so if you don’t have 500 purchasers or customers or people on your email list, you should have these have 500 website visitors. And so another custom audience you want to create. Because you’ll be able to look create a lookalike audience from is people who followed you on Instagram over the last 180
days. So IgG followers 180 and hit Create audience for that. And this is cool because not only can you create a lookalike audience of this. But when you actually go live and you want to get this presale campaign to your people
you know if you post this on social media you may only get 5% or 10% of your audience who actually sees this. At least this way, they will be able to find anyone who engage with your business over the past on your Instagram page. Over the past 180 days. And the cool thing is if you have more than one Instagram profile you have multiple you can add all of them there.
And just create a different page. If you had you would just egg account name and you can separate it that way, which you can run the same ad to all the followers across all your accounts. And this is very helpful for anything in the future that you would just want to make sure you hit everybody in your Instagram account and you could do the same thing for your Facebook audience et cetera.
So that’s one of the main audiences. I would create are custom audiences of your Instagram followers your website visitors et cetera. And I would create a lookalike of at least your customer lists website visitors and Instagram followers. Now when you actually go live. One of the things you can do is download your viper list
after everyone updates and actually syncs with clay view directly. So you can create a segment or you can download it to a CSV file and upload it just like I did the customer list and you would be able to upload that customer list here. And as long as it’s over 500 people in that 500 to 1,000 people range you can actually run your ads when it yourself goes
live to everyone who opted in on your viper presale page. So you can make sure if you post on Instagram or if you send them an email. 12 percent of people are open in their email. That leaves 88% of people who still haven’t seen the fact that your email them. You could run an ad to them to make sure you get in front of 100% of your audience.
