“Who is your product for?” After watching the video in this lesson, you’ll be able to answer this question by figuring out the following aspects of your ideal customer:

[MUSIC PLAYING] COREY FERREIRA: Now that we know how our product or business is different, now we need to figure out who our customer is. Once we know exactly who our customer is, we'll have an easier time finding them. The more specific we can get here, the faster will gain traction in our business. So let's answer the question, who is your product for, by thinking about and answering a few specific questions. Market-- what specific niche or market are you serving?

For example, if you're selling work boots, you're likely targeting construction workers or the construction industry. Interests-- what are their interests? For example, if you're selling camouflage jackets, you might be targeting people who are interested in hunting. Behavior-- where do your customers hang out? What sites are your customers frequent? What tools they use? What games do they play? What apps they use?

For example, if we're selling baking and pastry tools, we might find most of our customers on Pinterest. Lastly demographics. What's your customer's age, gender, location, marital status, et cetera? For example, we're selling baby products, we might target young new moms. Let's take a look at our real pride from a real store and see if we can answer these questions to figure out who the customer is.

So let's use Kylie Jenner's line of cosmetics as an example for product market fit. Now, I don't actually know who our target audience is and she's not drop shipping but if I were to sell her products, I could begin guessing and making assumptions on product market fit. So specific niche and market-- well, makeup and cosmetics. Interests-- Kylie Jenner, specific women's magazine brands, competing makeup brands, fashion, style, reality TV.

Congregate-- Snapchat, Instagram, and young women in the US. The more specific I can be here, the earlier I might be able to find success and sales. Even though older women outside of the US might use his product or even want it, if I start narrow I can slowly scale my offering to more customers as my store gains traction.
