Writing product descriptions may feel intimidating for some, especially if you don’t think about yourself as a writer, but product descriptions are very important. Sell the product to your customers. They need to know about the features they need to know the size and the materials and all this factual information. But it’s also really important to tell them a story that helps them. Imagine the product in their lives.
And this is talking about benefits along with the features. So maybe you have a feature that your product is made out of wood. Why does your customer care. What does it being made out of wood are for them. As you’re writing your product descriptions you want to think about how your product is going to solve a problem for your customer how it’s going to make them feel what it is that they care about that’s going to make them click that add to cart button.
Remember that along with answering questions for your customer and creating interest you’re really telling a story with your product descriptions. You want to use the benefits to sell the product to your customer and you want them to know why it is that they should be interested. Keep in mind that all your text needs to be readable left aligned with type a comfortable size including paragraph breaks.
So remember features are important, but benefits sell your product. These can be phrased as problems your product solves or reasons why your customers will love having your product in their lives. This is a great place to tell a story that invites your customer to imagine your products in their life. Use your product descriptions to both answer questions and create interest.
