So in the previous video, we talked about how the consumers attention has shifted to the smartphone. And today, the average consumer is spending 4 and 1/2 hours a day on their smartphone. So what exactly are people doing on their smartphones. Well, data from sales force shows us that 80% of time spent within the smartphone is spent in messaging apps. So messaging apps like Android message a message or any other messaging apps and consumers are using these messaging apps to communicate with friends, family, and co-workers.
And these consumers want to use these same messaging apps to communicate with their favorite businesses. Data from converse smarts 2020 DTC text message marking report shows that 75.5 percent of consumers have signed up to receive text messages from businesses in the past year alone. So there is this misconception that the consumer would get annoyed to receive text messages from businesses.
But this data shows otherwise. The average consumer is already predisposed to receiving text messages from businesses through presidential campaigns to factor in notifications order delivery notifications so your consumers are not going to get annoyed if they receive a text message from your brand's.
